Independent University Bangladesh (IUB) on Wednesday organized a recital by foreign poets and a seminar on contemporary world poetry as part of the university’s 25th anniversary celebrations.

The program was held at the IUB Campus in Bashundhara.

Two papers on contemporary world poetry were presented by Agnes Meadows, from the UK, and Dr Joyce Ashuntantang, from the USA, at the program.

The seminar was followed by a recital in which renowned poets Tendo Taijin of Japan, Yuri Zambrano of Mexico, Miao-yi Tu of Taiwan, Mario Mathor of Colombia and Ibrahim Elmasri of Egypt participated.

IUB Vice Chancellor Prof M Omar Rahman attended the program as chief guest, while Dhaka International Poets Summit President Aminur Rahman was special guest.
